I was looking for some great blogs and I found yours.
Your layout is great, posts are easy to read... All around, it's a great journal.
It's been a busy week. We cleaned pantry on Thursday. What a job! I am very Thankful that my friend came and helped. Yesterday I put up the stuff we drug out but didn't put back on Thursday. DIL went for produce so I didn't have that to do. Yea!
Today DH plans on putting the freezer together and knocking a hole in the wall to the pantry. I am excited! It will be nice when it is done. I hope it will be easier to keep straight and sorted. I have big plans that it will. The shelves will be more narrow so stuff doesn't get stuffed to the back where you can't see it. (At least in my dreams!)
We missed all the rain from the hurricane. It was cloudy and thought about raining one day. Didn't happen. Guess God has other plans. I will continue to pray for rain and be thankful for His presents in my life even when my prayers aren't answered. I know He can water our land without us seeing rain even. I am Trusting Him to take care of it.
Yesterday our grandbaby became a one year old! We are planning on having a birthday party today for him. Mommy is making a carrot cake! It has been a short year. Even the kids talk about how fast the year has been. He decided this week that crawling was just baby stuff. He was ready to walk. He is off and running everywhere now. He is such a joyful baby. Full of giggles and smiles and love.
No news on the adoption front. Dh tried several times to call AR yesterday. I don't know if it was a state holiday or they do a 4 day work week, but he couldn't even get switch board numbers to work. Maybe God didn't want us checking yet. He will be calling again Monday. Mean while J and I talk almost every night. Last night she said or conversation was to short. So I told her to come up with stuff to talk about. She said tonight she would have a list.
We will see. I will try and make a list too. Maybe I will find one of those email, "How much do you know about me" things that float around. You know the ones that ask all the silly questions.
Yesterday the kids rolled the flat bread out and cooked it. Yea! They did a great job! Since we are going through about 2 batches a week that will be a time helper if they can do that. They don't even scatter flour any more than I do. You have to understand when I play in flour I have it everywhere! I am a messy cook!
IF MN can keep up with her school work she has a job. She has worked a couple of times for oldest son. First time she made a great hand, second she was less than good. I called her on it and after a long discussion she admitted she was mad because there was another kid there and he was bossing her. So she shut down. I pointed out that her actions were much like her brothers and she hates it when he does that to her. Oh the look of horror on her face! Then it crumpled! Through tears she said I was right! She had said she would never allow herself to act like that again. She was going to have to make some changes. Then she ask to call her brother and apologize and ask for another chance.
Her "job" will be helping him on Mondays at the auction. Both the older boys have worked there. He still works there on Mondays as he also buys there while he is pushing stock through. He wants a runner between him and the guy back one. This will save both of them steps. She will get to help push sheep and goats through. What she doesn't realize is that she will also end up with bottle babies. If she hangs in there and works she will be bring them home every week before winter is done. She will be buying some and given others. If they find them in the pens then she will be offered them. I wonder if my son has thought of that part? The part where she is asking to put these wet babies in his car? He should have, he brought his share home!
Mom's rule is she has to have her school work done BEFORE Monday or she can't go on Monday. She has one redo this week and she is set to go. I am sure she will have to miss a week now and then so she knows the rules apply. Yes, I will make her miss. She also has to have a good attitude. Eeeks! That may be the harder part. She has been suffering from a bad attitude in lots of ways. I will jerk her chain on that faster than the school work!
Other news is MJ is purging! Yea! after 3 years he feels safe enough to remember junk, horrible junk from his past. Please keep him in prayer as he faces monsters that no child person should have to face. He is writing a "book" of his life. It is awesome in that it has so much stuff and how it made him feel. He writes then he reads it to me and we talk about the stuff he saw and did to survive. Hard to hear, has to be harder to write but with God's help he is digging it out.
Time to start my day! Hope everyone has a blessed weekend!
