I was looking for some great blogs and I found yours.
Your layout is great, posts are easy to read... All around, it's a great journal.
See the yardstick? The YELLOW 36 inch yardstick? Can you tell the fence is taller than that? If you count the squares above the yard stick you see there are 3 full ones. Each square is 4 inches, which is why this fence is called 4 x 4!
Here is another angle. This was the first picture I took. She thought it was fun helping mom. By the time I was finished she was looking very bored.
Today I did talk to the case worker. She was telling me about a boy she wants us to consider. I wonder if I was to blunt in asking SEVERAL times when our home study would be done, and pointing out it has been FIVE weeks as of yesterday since we got our prints done. I think I ONLY pointed that out twice, well maybe three times
Then I pointed out that it was an 80 miles round trip. I wouldn't mind sending pictures to her or emailing them if that would save them a trip. I do know how overworked they are. She said she hadn't thought of pictures. She would get with the supervisor and see if that would work. Pray it does. I can't see getting TWO case workers out here in a reasonable time. I did point out that it would be a 3 hour trip to look at a fence I could take picture of and save them the time. We won't even go in the direction of the FLDS legal stuff is keeping CPS short handed and displaced. If she OK's the fence then we are just waiting on finger prints!
In other news I have a new table! Yea! I am thrilled! It is oval and the chairs fit UNDER the table! I didn't even have to go get it. The delivered it. The top is a little battered, so was the other one.

Or not! It seems my 10 yo has started getting up at 6. I have no problem with this other than she wants to chat. I want to set here and read and watch the sunrise. I like the quite of early mornings. Oh well this to will pass I am sure. She is off to do her chores and get her school work done for a minute. Yesterday, she did work on her crochet after school. Yea! I hope she learns to like doing it. I can do basic stitches, but don't really "like" doing it.
I got to talk to J last night. I really thought she wasn't going to get to call. I had just looked at the clock and it was almost 9. I was just hoping that she wasn't in trouble. Not a minute later the phone rang. It was her
She had a great day. Had got new glasses and went shopping with her clothing allowance. Had to tell me all the stuff she bought. I told her about the new baby goats and she thought it would be fun to feed them. I agree it is, for about a week then the fun wears off and it becomes work. She didn't think so. I do know she likes animals so it might or might not be work to her. I have 2 that it isn't work, and 3 that it IS work.
Then she said she had something important to ask me. She wanted to know if we would consider adopting her. LOL I told her to be patient that she had already been selected and the wheels of adoption turn slow. To give this family a chance. She said she was going to ask her case worker. I told her that was fine, but she needs to be patient and trust God and give this time. She said she would call on Thursday. See we really do cram a lot into a short time.
The two little goats made it through the night. MN has already went and checked. We now have more colostrum on to thaw. I will feed them this a couple more times, then switch to cows milk. Guess this means I will be milking a little more often again. They are cute, a boy and girl. Both are red heads. That means they have some boer in them. They are a bigger goat than the Spanish which use to be all over W. Texas.
Plans for today? Go milk! Work around here. Avoid the heat. We are still suppose to be HOT. Over 100 to me is HOT. Right now it is beautiful outside. I think I will go set out there a bit and soak it up. Maybe it will help keep me cool when the temps start to rise.
All have a blessed day!
