I was looking for some great blogs and I found yours.
Your layout is great, posts are easy to read... All around, it's a great journal.
It is now 1:30 and I am the only one ready for town. I have been this way 2 hours. I am allowing natural consequences to deal with children. They have been cleaning the upstairs and getting ready for the better part of 4 hours. Now do I really believe they have been WORKING that long? HA! I have a monitor, I can hear what isn't happening up there.
I deserve the award because I haven't lost it. I am calmly playing on the 'puter, working round here and generally looking and acting calm. ACTING might be the key word there.
They have finally started showers. I am still curious as to what they are going to come down wearing. Since they are again doing the dirty clothes battle they have to be about of clean anything. So far in their "cleaning" today they haven't mentioned washing clothes. Oh well, won't they be shocked when they show up down stairs and I pin a note on them stating, "Please don't blame my mom for how I look and smell. I choose to not wear clean clothes." I have decided I will do it in different sizes of print. Small to start with, but if that gets "ripped" off, then I will re-pin with larger. Yes, I will be taking the different sizes to town with me if they show up in dirty clothes. I am tired of battling and making an issue of it. It will the their choice if they wear dirty clothes, but I will have it duely noted, It was their choice. Wonder if that will get the point across? We will see
While I have been waiting I have been discussion trading kitchen tables with a lady. I have a really cool drop leaf table. It expands to 75 inches, but it has EIGHT legs. Ever try to get 8 chairs under a table with 8 legs? Doesn't happen! So I want a different BIG table. This lady has a pedestal table with 3 leaves. She says it is sturdy. I hope. That is my only concern. Our table gets LOTS of hard use. We really do sit down meals at it, besides the homeschooling and crafts and who knows what will show up on my table!
It should be interesting when/if they every get ready for town. They all three have shopping list they want to do. To bad, so sad, not happening today! I will do MY shopping and deliver them to their dad. What you ask is "My" shopping? LOL going to Sam's to get CAMERAS for the upstairs! Does anyone see the humor here? DH and I have discussed it and we both want to see what, "Wasn't me", "Nobody" and "Hu?" look like. I have one or more that seem to get up after lights out. They are almost as quite as a blind buffalo in a china shop. When ask who was up those are the usually answers. I can't wait to bust the bed jumping party that I know they don't EVER do. It will take a few weeks for them to forget the cameras are up there then boom they will be busted. Besides getting to see the ghost up there with the multiple names. That isn't even counting the days like to day when if I ask they would all assure me they have been "working" the whole time. Yea right! NOT!
Think I will fix me a mug of tea to take to drink. Then find me a book to read. It seems they might be getting close to ready to go. MIGHT... If I don't have to design the dirty clothes note.
All have a blessed afternoon!!
Again yesterday evening we got rain. Lots of awesome lightening, a little small hail and about 1/2 an inch of rain. We are quite muddy! I love it! Our rain chance is back down to 20%. Guess that means our rain is over for a few days. This should make the garden grow like crazy. My friend that lives about 15 miles due South of us said they had hail with the storm the day before enough to wipe out her garden, peach and aprocots. They were counting their blessings in they were OK and so was their house.
I think I am raising the next generation of storm chasers. We sat on the porch and watched the lightening show. Then when the small hail started the kids had the magnifying glass out looking at it. I finally made them come in when the hail got to be quarter size. The quarter size didn't last long. It was really strange the larger hail came at the very back of the storm.
I think one of the small towns just South of us got POUNDED. Golf ball size hail. Broken windows, car windows broken out, power lines down.... I will keep them in prayer. I don't think there were any injuries, which is a blessing. My heart goes out to people that get pounded by hail. We had that happen once. Up to grapefruit size pieces and LOTS of it. On the level it was 4-5 inches deep. While this hail wasn't that bad, it was bad enough.
I am trying to upload fence pictures to Sam's photo site. For some reason I can only load one at a time. I should be able to do more, but it won't. I am going to Sams anyway, so I thought I would use them. I discovered the WM I usually go to no longer does the one hour photos. I detest the other WM. I am hoping I can get them uploaded. I loose track of which ones I have and haven't done, so I have uploaded 2 twice.
I have two girls that I can see the writing on the wall they are going to have consequences for being ugly to each other before breakfast! MN is mad at me. I got her up at 6 to fold clothes she over piled in a laundry basket yesterday and left to get knocked out and dirty again. She is lucky that I was heading to bed when I saw it. I debated getting her up then to fold them. T did her avoid chores game yesterday and so has to get hers done EARLY today. Such a mean mean mom. Maybe they will decide I really do mean business
I HOPE!
Today my town day includes getting the pictures to CPS of our fence. I don't know if this will satisfy her or not. Since she hasn't called to set up a time to come out, I am hoping this will work. I hate waiting! I also want the homestudy DONE.
Other news: We got the beef we sold loaded yesterday evening. We are selling one as a beef and the other at the sale. We got them both loaded. It was sorta funny. My son who does NOT like cattle as much as I do and I were trying to get them in the trailer. We finally got them in the trailer. My son did manage to get out here and home without getting stuck. He didn't stay long as when we got finished loading they were issuing weather warnings toward town, with the storm heading our direction.
Tonight should be the night I talk to J. It is our Heart to Heart night. So I won't be home. I ask my DH to have them call me on my cell. I don't think any of the women at Heart to Heart will mind if I go outside for 5 minutes to talk to her.
I hope she has had a better 2 days than the 4 days before. I hope she got the letter I wrote her on Friday. I like writing, but I hate mailing! That requires a 3 mile, 2 gate trip to get it in the mail box. I cheated and got my son and DIL to do it for me Sat. morning.
I am very impressed with the yeast med. I am taking. I feel so much better. I hope I can still order it when this is gone. It is called Ojibwa Tea of Life Immune Yeast and Fungus. I really wish I had taken it when I got it. It seems to make such a difference. I am feeling human much later in the evening and not sluggish all day. Between this stuff and my Herbstability I am human!
LOL my girls were wanting to know if my granddaughter was going to get to come stay this weekend. I told them I wasn't sure, but if the upstairs looked like I thought it did she wouldn't be. They went POOF up the stairs! My guess is the upstairs looks like I think it does. What do you think?
Today I am milking! I separated cows yesterday afternoon before the rain. This is the first time since Sunday I have milked. I am on strike! If someone needs milk I don't mind milking, but I don't want to deal with a frig full of milk. The calves are all big enough to take all the milk so I don't have to milk. It really has been nice not going to the barn to milk EVERY morning. I could get use to this!
I have rambled the early morning away. It is almost 8 and time for me to start my day. I hope everyone has a very blessed and productive day.
